Merry Christmas from Munich, Germany

We arrived in Munich just in time for the last day of the Marienplatz Christmas Market.

On Christmas Day we climbed up 306 steps to the top of Alter Peter. This had an awesome view of Frauenkirche Cathedral, Marienplatz and the Christmas Market.

...locks of love were chained to the fence around the tower. On Christmas Eve carolers stood here with trumpets singing down to the Christmas Market. (my favorite moment in Munich)

As I mentioned, this was my first Christmas away from home not eating a traditional Italian Feast of the Seven Fishes. Thankfully, Bert kept me occupied beer hall hopping, which quickly amounted to the Feast of the Seven Beers.

I don't know what happened to American pub culture but these brau haus were so warm and cozy. Everyone shares tables making it inviting and easy to meet people.

Two of our favorite finds were the pretzel/croissant = cretzel and pretzel soup

For a break from the beer halls we walked through the English Gardens where we found awesome graffiti and surfers in a rivers.

Bert leaving our mark in Munich.

Overall, Munich was the perfect place to spend Christmas away from home. All this picture is missing is Santa and his reindeer flying in the sky.
